Magic & The Martial Arts: a weekend of mystery and mastery.
Please join us for three days of mystery and mastery. For the very first time ever, we are offering a conference designed to explore the mind/body connection between performance magic and the martial arts, Jeff McBride is world famous for his unique fusion of martial arts and magic. Jeff has studied many Eastern martial arts iuncluding Judo, Aikido, Tae Kwan Do, and Go-Ju Ryu Karate. Jeff will be your guide on a mystical voyage that will explore both Eastern and Western martial arts. You will learn ways to incorporate magic into your existing martial arts routines, or learn how to utilize the martial arts to enhance your magic show.
Jeff will be joined by his long-time friend and mystery school alumnus, Bryce Kuhlman. Bryce has a deep passion for Shao-lin kung fu, and will share his insights with us. Also joining us will be Tom Meseroll, author of Magus: Master of Martial Magic, a recently published novel that explores the martial arts from a magical perspective.
We look forward to you joining us in September here at the school for this amazing event!
Last year Aaron Crow was our special guest...this year we have new guests and workshops!
Aaron Crow is a master of martial arts magic and mystery. Aaron was a finalist on the Uri Geller show PHENOMENON and will perform and talk about his magic and it's mystical connection to the martial arts. CROW is an international television sensation and this is a rare US appearance and his only US appearance for 2008! Jeff recently worked with Arron in Istanbul and here is what Aaron say's about Jeff's influence on his work.
In Aaron's words:
"Jeff's in-depth view, his ideas and inspiring theories and, above all, his firm belief in my abilities has made me the performer that I am today. Three years ago, before my first Master Class, I was dreaming of this one great act.
Five Master Classes later I am living my dream. I am the reigning (FISM) world champion in Mental magic. I get to travel the world performing in big galas and TV shows. I've received a number of great awards, one of them being "Le Mandraque d'or", which is the French "Oscar" for stage performers. Most recently "Blackpool 2006" went mad for my new act, "Bowman".
I still dream. This time it is about how I can -- or better, how I will -- blow away three thousand magicians at the next World Championships of Magic!
What does it take to be a winner? It is a balance of patience, practice and discipline. Winning has something to do with taking a risk! We can learn for our mentors, friends and top athletes what it takes to become a winner. Here is basketball star Michael Jordan's words
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
Yours in the arts of inspiration and magic!
Jeff McBride
