A Letter to Friends and Family

A Letter from Abbi McBride to the Spouses, Families and Friends of Master Class Students

We would like to thank you for helping to make it possible for your magician to attend the Magic and Mystery School. Having the support of people who care is an important part of any magician's success. We honor all that you do to nurture their magical potential. We're sure they will have an incredible time while here at the School, and we want to make sure you have an excellent time in Las Vegas as well!

Unless otherwise specified, classes start at 1:00pm each day at 3132 Shadowridge Ave. If you need directions, please call Abbi at 702-450-0021. Parents or guardians are responsible for dropping off students and picking them up for dinner break at 5:30 (if necessary), and at the end of class at 10:30pm. If you arrive and the class is still in session, please let yourself in quietly, and come to the library; help yourself to water and snacks, and make yourselves comfortable.

While the class is in session, there are lots of fun things to do in and around Las Vegas. Many of them are free!

1. BELLAGIO: See the Botanical Gardens located just past the Hotel Registration area. While there, take a look at the Chihuly glass art, and see the dancing Fountains located outside on the Strip in front of the Hotel.
2. BUFFETS: Eat at Wynn Las Vegas or Bellagio or Aladdin buffets. There are many others but these are special.
3. THE ETHEL M CHOCOLATE FACTORY AND CACTUS GARDEN: Located near the intersection of Sunset Way and Sunset Ave, less then 10 minutes from the school; free tours of the chocolate factory daily!
4. EXTERIORS: See the exteriors of the following hotels: Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Excalibur, New York-New York and Paris Las Vegas.
5. FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE: Downtown, see the light show at night.
6. SHOWS: Go to either Jubilee at Bally's or Folies Bergere at the Tropicana to see a classic Vegas production show,
7. ATTRACTIONS: Forum Shops at Caesars, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, The Volcano at the Mirage, The View from the top of the Stratosphere, and for the daring, the Roller Coaster at New York, New York!
8. STRIP: Drive down The Strip from Mandalay Bay to Fremont Street.
9. VENETIAN: See the fabulous, classic Hotel lobby. While there, be sure to see the Grand Canal Shoppes. a shopping mall with a canal running through!
10. ANY HOTEL: Have a spa day! Order room service, have a massage, relax by the pool and take it easy!

Or, take a little drive out of town, and check out Red Rock Canyon-- the scenic drive through is beautiful, any time of year. Mount Charleston has some great hiking and scenery. There is a labyrinth at the Catholic church in Boulder City. The Hoover Dam offers tours daily, on the Arizona border. The Valley of Fire is about an hour and half away; check out the petroglyphs and remains of ancient civilizations! There are so many fun shows in town; we highly recommend The World's Greatest Magic Show, at the Greek Isles Casino-- kids are free! Circus Circus has some fantastic circus acts performing throughout the day, for free!

All of these magic-mentors took time from their busy schedules to speak to our classes and offer insights on the "way of the magician," not just about life on stage, but off the stage and in the real world.  We thank you for the all of your loving advice. Your words of wisdom to our students are a priceless gift, and will live in our hearts and minds forever!
