Nobody really knows where he comes from: a country, a place or another world? Whatever is certain, he doesn't belong to this world. In his search for magic among people, he will show you the mysteries in normal and daily things. Where he comes from people still believe in the power of imagination, let yourself be carried away to that world.
Jochem Nooyen is the real person behind the amazing costume and décor of Magusta. At the age of 16 I started performing as a professional. First with balloons but I got addicted to close-up magic very soon after. At the age of 19 I was one of the lucky Dutch guys who got a place in one of Jeff's "secret sessions" that he taught in our lovely Magic Arts Centre in Bennebroek Holland. Actually, it was a Master Class of only one day and you can imagine that I wanted to learn more from Jeff. Fortunately he returned: in 2003 he gave a complete Master class in Lille in France. The timing was excellent, because I just had created a Wizard Act Jeff handed me so many new insights, views and ideas for it, so that I could start working on improving it even further. The most important thing I’ve learned was that I now understood how to look at my act and how to move to a higher level!
Exactly one year later I participated in the Belgian Magic Competition and I won the Magic Effects Super Cup. I'm very pleased with all the ideas I got during the Master Class and in May this year (2004) I will participate again in the Dutch Magic Championships.
The Master Classes changed my act into a consistent story instead of loose effects and routines. The combination of theatre and magic is truly amazing.
